Hello everyone, I picked my G73JH from bestbuy 3 days ago, I have been loving it. Today I updated the Bios to 211 and the vBios and that has so far taken away any GSOD problems I previously had.
Now though at random times (usually when I open a video or a game or anything involving sound) the speakers go berserk, they start making this static crackly noise. (By random I mean that it does not happen every time I start an app).
Any help or tips about this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

if your problem is something similar to the one shown in this video --> "Asus G73: rumore gracchiante dopo una sessione di Dragon Age: Origins (static/crackling noise)", then you have to RMA your G73 in order to replace your mainboard... sorry for this, but I know what I say 'cause it's what happened to me and it was the only solution... byezzz

today is day 14 of my bestbuy return policy, I think im going to just return it... too many problems...
question is do I buy another one and hope that it does not have the same issue? -
I think it's kind of rare. Mine does this, but most people don't have this problem. I'd say there's a pretty good chance the next one won't do it.
I just live with it. It doesn't do it very often. If I put it into sleep mode and then wake it up, it stops doing that. -
yeah but im afraid to death that I will be at the LRC (school library) and it will just start going off =/
or worse... taking notes in class... I Guess I could always plug a headset in as a precaution... but still no one should live in fear of having their laptop speakers go haywire at any moment... -
Plugging in headphones won't work. I've tried that. It comes out over the speakers no matter what. You could just exchange it. You've got a pretty good chance of getting one that doesn't. They don't all do it. I've only seen a half dozen or so other users complain about it around here.

damn this is such a hassle =/
some of my save games cannot be backed up =(
I also have to backup everything I put on here =/
If I RMA and they change the mobo I think I still lose everything on the hard drive so I guess i will have to cope with the loss and get a new one. -
Make an image of the hard drive with Ghost or some other backup software to an external disk. Swap out the computer and image back to the new one. You'll never be able to tell it was touched. Everything will be exactly the same.
I think the built-in Windows backup will do this too, but I've never used it. In my line of work, we use Ghost. -
Acronis FTW!
