Stargate Universe and Asus

Just watched a bit of Stargate Universe.

I wonder if anyone else noticed that Eli (hacker/gamer/MIT drop-out) uses a Asus G72 Notebook? For once a TV character actually uses hardware that you would expect.

Fun to see something other than a lame Apple Notebook or sometimes fun to see XPS/Alienware on a tv show.

 

Stargate Universe is one of the worst things on air right now in my oppinion...
SG-1 was awesome, Atlantis was decent to good and this is just awful.
I watched the first few hoping it would improve as the story progressed but at the 5th episode i just couldnt force myself to download and watch another. Its like they didnt even try, like the whole episode is some kind of a sentimental filler with no real story. Its a disgrace to the Stargate series (i was a fan ya).
I did not notice the laptop anywhere. Was it used later?

I liked the use of XPS notebooks and Halo references at Big Bang Theory. They really fit in there .

 

And in Stargate SG-1 Carter used a Dell XPS M1730 gamer notebook when she reprogrammed an Ori warship

 

I wish theyd reconsider and made new episodes of the original series with Carter, Daniel and Oneil...

Indeed. Richard Dean Anderson made the show fun. When he left I stopped watching.
I think SG:U is trying to do a kinda BSG thing, but I didn't really care for the bit that I watched.

The XPS M1710 was used in Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. You can see it often in multiple episodes.

And indeed Stargate Universe is awfull. After 4 seasons Battlestar Galactica it was enough. Then they start it all over again in the form of Stargate Universe. If you take out the 5 minutes of a Stargate you could easily call it something else. It is boring and sloooooooooooooooooooow.

The whole reason that damn series exist is because scifi budgets are crap these days. And you have morrons at the top thinking they need to call it SyFy now and dumb it down a lot. Bah.

I want a real Sci Fi series again.

I found when budgets had problems they put out crappy seasons (need I point out the pure waste-of-time BS that happened a lot in BSG, as well as that pure CRAP ending)...

I am glad they killed of the Stargate franchises instead of letting the turn into what is Universe... It seems like they are trying to reel in the ignorant dumb- population of morons that constantly are sucked into reality TV shows and in the process are pissing off all the sci-fi faithful. Honestly, who cares if the senators daughter is a sorority girl that only wants the jock? Then she gets pissy when back on earth becauseher "boyfriend" has moved on... Like her ing around on Destiny isn't just as bad???

Ack... Even typing like that pisses me off... That is why most of us watch sci-fi is to get away from the daily stupidity of society... and Univere is more poltiical thriller and soap-opera than anything else... Like they would have so many closed-minded and petty people on another planet for research in the first place???

Oh man; I totally agree RDA was the man... but I think you're missing out on some good episodes post-RDA. Seriously go back and watch them!
