I created already 2-3 months ago a thread about this issue http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/655858-gpu-driver-you-using-g73jh.html
The problem is that I can't run any newer driver on my notebook (ATI 5870M installed) than version 11.10, I tested the latest version (12.4) now and get again the random bluescreen issue as described in the thread above (It includes also the Windows kerneldump). All the time I see my favourite filename "atikmpag.sys" on a blue background![]()
Here a screenshot which shows all informations about my GPU / GPU Driver / BIOS:

(Is there any reason by the way why GPU-Z / Hwinfo 64 are showing different PCI-E speeds?)

That is the latest updated VBIOS right?
Ive been upgrading the drive from the stock one from ASUS all the way to the most recent without a single clean install and I get great scores and can run furmark overnight. Games run great as well. So for me, the drivers are not the issues. -
For me everything is working also fine, just the latest drivers make issues and I really tried a lot of cleaning ways already. -
Just to understand this right, the BSOD happens while you normaly work on your machine and not just when installing the latest driver?
-
Its actually quite funny, it mostly restarts when I leave it alone for a while ... so when I come back I see a restarted system. -
What vbios are you using, v93 or chastity's od2? If you are on chas', it's try the v93.
-
Replied in my thread, but 12.1 will install with OD vBIOS active...only 12.1, that is as all other balk.
Going to try one more time after a small nap (while a full system image is made) and see what happens after 93 is reapplied.
But, yeah, your GSOD/BSOD issues scream "stock vBIOS problem". -

While we're talking about the latest drivers, can anyone here vouch for increased performance using the latest cats?
-
-
where can i find a valid link for Chastity's OD2?
-
You cna find everything you need here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/634168-g73jh-vbios-93v.html
You will need to get ATIflash and the software to make a bootable flash drive from the v93 bios, you can find the od2 vbios in one of my posts below the OP. -
Thanks for the help tijo =)
Bios updated to 213, VBios updated to OD2, and GPU drivers updated to 12.6 without a hitch.
Still bluescreen issues with newer AMD(ATI) GPU drivers on the G73JH
