I've had my G73 for several months and love it! I have always thought the sound was "good" but not "great" I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT250 headphones, so I really want the best from my onboard sound card.

Anyway, I thought I would give the Creative X-FI a go (from the G73 drivers link posted by Chastity). I downloaded and installed it, easy enough, but after I restarted, I now have this static noise in the headphones when no music or sound is playing. Before installing this, it was perfectly silent, but now there is this dirty staticy sound. I uninstalled Creative X-FI and its still there.

Has anyone encountered this?? Very annoying

Mute your mics, or config them to to playback what they hear.
