I recently purchased a G53JW-A1 and today I noticed a single bright spot on my LCD screen.
The spot only shows up on light color backgrounds such as white, light gray and etc. However, on dark backgrounds it's not visible. I assume this is called a "Bright Dot".
Fortunately, I am still under the 30day screen Guarantee. But, rather than go through the process, I want to see if i can fix it before I send it out.
I tried to Google for some free software but I do not know or have the experiences for which ones are legit or good.
Any suggestions?

I've used jscreenfix with good results -- but it often took many hours to clear a stuck pixel.
I would strongly recommend against pressing on the screen or using any kind of method besides software on a brand new machine. On older machines I've recommended using a gum eraser to massage the area around a cluster of stuck pixels, but for one pixel on a brand new screen it's not worth the risk.
If you can't get it to clear with jscreenfix or another utility, make sure you've got your warranty registration in order, and send it out for RMA. -

It was close to a day or so -- more than 18 hours. It's not easy to get a pixel to unstick. Some stuck pixels go away for a time and come back, so it may not be a permanent solution either.

Just the area with the stuck pixel, otherwise you'll probably have a seizure.

just return it and get a new machine
tell them your screen has dead pixels -

I had a black pixel on my G72 screen and used jscreenfix and applied pressure with a stylus of my Palm TX over the pixel (I used a lens cloth to cover the area so I wouldn't scratch the screen, obviously), and after some time of working on it (I think about an hour o 45 mins) I finally managed to fix it.
I really can't describe how happy I was to have a perfect screen after that, but I'm guessing that not everybody is as fixated as me on that kind of issue, lol. -
You have two options - try to fix it yourself (software didnt help on any of my screens, neither did massaging on the G73JH, but i did manage to massage a stuck pixel out on my D900F) or ask for a screen replacement - thats what i did with the G73JH and i got a new one which i swapped myself. Or just learn to live with it. Depends on the kind of person you are, im a perfectionist so things like that drive me nuts, but to most people it doesnt matter much.

P.S. As much as a perfectionist that you claim to be, you do make a lot of errors for example: "didnt" when it's "didn't", "thats" when it's "that's", "im" when it's "I'm" an "doesnt" when it's "doesn't".
Myth Busted(You may consider yourself a perfectionist, but you just don't try hard enough to be a decent one)
