    I recently did a fresh install of win 7 on my laptop and the synaptics drivers wont install right. does anyone have a clue to why?

    I will do that, but the thing is i think somethings not letting it work. i install it and it restarts the computer. after that the touch pad wont work at all and the options for the synaptics tool wont show up either.

    Check you event viewer- system logs for any issues.
    Can you install other software without the restart issue?
    I would also do a full scan of your system with an anti virus program and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Download.com (but run both scans in safe mode).

    yea everything else installs fine. when i go to the device manager it says synaptic ps2 touchpad driver 15.0.1.0 or what ever version it is, but the touch pad doesnt work. so something isnt being cleared by the computer to let it work.
