So I finally JUST got around to installing the Touchpad fix package (BIOS update, ATK update, and Syn drivers update). Everythings going well until I noticed that my touchpad will not work at all if I have that "Disable Internal Pointing device when USB yada yada...."

    here: http://i.imgur.com/kVs2f.jpg

when thats checked, my TP will not work AT ALL. It used to work. I would be using a mouse, TP is off, remove mouse, TP is on. Now its the same, except TP doesn't turn on. Basically no way to move the cursor unless I plug in another mouse. The only way I can use the TP is if I have that box unchecked, but thats a no-no especially when Im playing FPS's online and throws my aim to hell and back.

Ive tried reinstalling the driver three times now. On Chastity's TP fix package, Ive installed using the "synaptics_touchpad_15.2.11.1-full" file (didnt work), as well as the 64 bit installer on the actual rar (didn't work also).

And maybe un related but Im getting this error when trying to uninstall via CCleaner:

There's a reg line you can add to bring that back. On my driver page there's

Synaptics Driver Fix for missing "Disable pointing device when mouse attached" Option

Download and run the .reg file

is there a way to disable the touch-pad while my USB mouse is attached? like and on off toggle? I always graze the pad while trying and mess stuff up.

Fn+F9 will toggle off the touchpad.

Ok so my TP is borked again.

I ran that reg line Chastity posted, and it DID fix it. Then I started getting that Interactive Services Detection error (pop up every 2 mins) so I disabled it in services and restart. I checked back services and ISD was already enabled, but now I'm again having the same TP issue I had in my first post.

As soon as I click 'Disable TP when other pointing device is present', my TP wont work with or without the mouse. I even unplugged ALL usb devices and when I go into Control Panel > Mouse with my TP and click on that box, my TP will disable and I get a message saying "Your synaptics tp has been disable due to detection of another external pointing device"...when there are no other pointing devices plugged in.

Nope. Those drivers didn't work either...

edit: After trying 3 more uninstall and reinstalls things got even weirder. Now I dont have the option to disable the TP when mouse is present, EVEN after I run the .reg file provided by Chastity.

What the hell is going on? I've done nothing out of the ordinary as far as installing synaptics drivers but I seem to be the only around here having this issue. Im not blaming it on the BIOS but I never had this issue prior to updating the BIOS.

    Hello everyone :)

I've encountered the same problem as j00zl33t and I was going nuts trying to solve it. I've got the G73SW-XA1 model.

I did these steps and now everytime I connect my mouse it disables the touchpad and if I remove the mouse the touchpad is reinstated without any issues and especially with the annoying ISD message.

    So:
    1. Uninstall the current Synaptics driver.Reboot when asked.
    2. Install the latest driver (15.2.11.1 full) provided by Chastity's thread . Again rebooted.
    3. Apply the reg driver fix found again on Chastity's thread (or change the DisableIntPD.. value at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh from 11 hexa to 33 hexa). Reboot to be safe.

I hope it works for you too, j00zl33t. :D
