If you haven't seen the results of my previous modding of my G51 heres the thread

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...0517-noobie-g51-owner-wanting-go-all-out.html

What I was wondering was if anyone has ever seen any instructional videos or instructions of any kind to installing a Thermaltake Tide Water Cooler to any kind of laptop.

All I have found is 1 youtube video of a guy just showcasing his mod

Asus G51VX-RX05 gaming laptop liquid cooled - YouTube

And another thread of a guy installing the cooler on another laptop and then he get too tech savvy for me to follow

portable (USB powered) external laptop water cooling - techPowerUp! Forums

if anyone has any insight on this it would be much appreciated!

I am all for extreme modding but water and electronics in my opinion is an accident waiting to happen.

Cooling on laptops is poor but at the same time after you have just upgraded it so intensely last thing you want is to kill it. I think you should just be pleased that your G51 is still running at all let alone water cooling it :)

Maybe Im asking for advice all wrong on this. I dont know a lot about computers or computer speak so maybe if I learned a few things I could try stuff on my own. So here's some questions for those who have used a water cooler or any cooler before. The coolers are normally just powered by the desktops power supply correct? And im assuming the laptop itself cannot supply power to the cooler, so I would need an external power source? So if I had a water cooler and an external power source then i could run the cooler on its own? Then all id need to figure out was how to fasten the cooler onto the gpu or CPU and then voila? Any more advice is welcome, as I said I am very new to computers
