Well, I'm sick of lugging a backpack and a messenger bag to University, through the busy stations and fighting the urge to throw my g73 on the subway tracks! In the summer i got a g74 and found the Targus XL bag. after going through Notebook Reviews Asus Gaming Forum to see what people though about this bag I thought i would be a safe buy. The problem? no mention of the weight, long term use, is it waterproof, pros cons and size of the g73 compared to the g74 respectively. I bought it on Ebay.ca today (don't have alot of time to cruise the mall Uni starts on Tuesday) So for anyone reading this here a link

Again, weight, long term use, is it waterproof, pros cons and size of the g73 compared to the g74 respectively
PS: That is not the exact price i paid for...not even close. I just used the link to show the bag

I would probably cut out the long term use question since Targus offers a lifetime warranty.
I've had mine about 2 years with absolutely 0 issues other than it being too roomy sometimes and I stuff it so heavy I can barely pick it up afterwards.
I would like to know about the waterproof thing myself, but I really don't believe if left in the rain things would be safe.
I do know that completely empty the thing feels like nothing is there at all. -
Targus XL has a lot of room and pockets etc. But it doesn't have as much padding as most other backpacks. I've had mine for a few years now. Can't say if it's perfectly waterproof but it does ok in the rain.

the waterproof capabilities seem untested, but is does the G74 compare in size to the G73?
-
They are almost exactly the same size. My bag ( this one) just barely fit the G73 in the laptop compartment and now it just barely fits the G74. Maybe it stretched from having the G73 in it often and the G74 is a bit bigger.

The G74 is thicker than the G73

Waterproofing wise, I've walked to class in the pouring rain with that backpack and never had a problem with anything getting wet, it is a SOLID backpack, I could fit two g53's in there, my ps3, and a pair of clothes if I wanted to, I wouldn't worry about capacity or waterproof, the only worry I would have is if the g74 will fit, my g53 when i put it in there had about 2 inches of clearance left, so it *should* fit, in theory. Good Luck!

Its a great bag. I have the same thing.
As for water proofing, little drizzles are fine. If the zippers are exposed to direct rain fall water can get in but then again it should be a problem for any back-pack with zippers.
The material used to make the bag is definitely water proof for the most part. -
How many textbooks could i fit in there and how dd the load feel on your back?
-
I could fit as many as I could possibly carry. Seriously. I've had 3 plus a laptop at once, walking about 250 yards, total. Anything more than that, I probably would have not taken because of the weight (and the fact that another book would likely be unnecessary).
