What are the average idle temp's for a g53? Ive had my laptop for 6 months and it has been smooth sailing up until lately when I've been getting some high temps. I'm idling at 55-60 degrees CELSIUS and reaching 80+ C under load. Before this I usually idled at around 43-48 and not reaching more than 70C. Oh and BTW I even reached 90C while playing starcraft... not SC2. SC brood war.. Is this normal for any g53jw? Any ideas out there?

What are your ambient temps? Did they go up with the approach of summer?

Im really not that sure about the ambient temps. But it started about 2 weeks ago.. an summer is already ending. its already raining season from where i am. And even though i turn the AC on it still runs hot.

G73jw temps I have seen people posting are around the 80-85oC' mark under full load so with the G53jw model which people already confirm runs hotter because of restricted cooling space inside I would not be worrying personally about those temps.

Depending on how long you have had it could be the stock paste on its way out but I still dont think those temps are anything to really worry about especially as your ending summer and your ambient temp will drop.

Think about a repaste with a TIM before next summer and you should be ok just keep an eye on the max temps from time to time.

I go by my personal maximums which are CPU 90oC GPU 100oC. Once they go within a few degrees of those temps I repaste.

I was thinking about re-pasting too. Cause I disassembled my laptop thinking that maybe the cause of the heat is the vents are full of dust but it wasn't. SO i think I'm gonna re paste. Any suggestions on a good thermal compound?

Have you tried cleaning your vents? That is probably the quickest and cheapest fix as far as reducing temps is concerned.
