Please take pics comparing the two. PLEASE.

I agree with bigddybn. The biggest decision for me right now between the A2 and the RBBX05 is whether or not I'll really notice the difference in screen quality, besides the resolution of course. A comparison would be much appreciated.
-
I have seen both screens and to me there is really no difference but these things are huge
-
Uh excuse me but there is a large differences between both of them, see you haven't seen real LED and RGBLED, the best buy verison totaly sucks compared to the 1080P screen! The hanstar screen has better quality, more deeper blacks and much more of a gamit 2.20, blacks are very important when coming to screen quality.
-
Freedom 16, I don't suppose you could post some pics from your A2? I know it's not the some as seeing it in person, but anything's better than nothing.
-
Viewing angles also? I will do it that in a bit, also which Razer mice for gaming are the best for RTS,action adventure, and shooting games, I have the G500 mouse awesome mouse.

When I power up the lighted keyboard comes on for a moment and then goes off until after you login to Windows.
Anyone know how to keep it on during Windows login? When using this at night cant really see to login. -
I use it only for games and the occasional movie. It's great. I have to smile when people complain about viewing angles. Once again, most customers will never do anything more than sit directly in front of the system. Even when I am using my 24" Samsung as the primary the BB G73 display is just fine -- for ME.
I personally would have preferred the 1080p display but I didn't want to wait and the price difference was too great. The 1600x900 display is good enough.

I just bought this laptop at best buy, the one that came with one hdd installed, and went to install a second hdd to find the metal carriage isn't in there. Does anyone know if there is a way to get another one of those, as I have a 500gb storage hard drive from my old laptop to put in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
Cheers, -
Just returned mine, after a week I couldn't deal with the display.
I usually am thrilled when I get a system with an LG display but this one was terrible. Can work with bad horizontal viewing angles, but the vertical angle was really bad and I think exaggerated by the panel size (I would adjust the angle of the display then sit slightly back in my chair and have large sections washed out. I tried to use my Huey calibrator to try and play with brightness, contrast and gamma, no luck
I explained the situation, one of the BB Geeks looked at it and agreed it was atrocious, no restocking fee
Other then the display I think it's a great system -
I purchased this as a desktop replacement. I have my 23" 1080p with my G15 and CM Sentinel when docked.
When on the go/LAN, this is more than enough for me. I am 100% confident with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone around the $1k range.
I couldn't justify $1600 and was going to settle with the G72. Then this shows up at BB and they sell it to me earlier? What else could I ask for?
Put the laptop right in front of you and adjust the screen angle. Where the hell else would you sit? -
Sold my G73JH-X1 and bought the Best Buy version.....and definetly wouldn't look back...
My point is I guess, if you are LOOKING to find something wrong with the Best Buy version, then you DEFINTELY WILL. Otherwise, this is a great deal. -

As for adjusting because you move around. I am pretty sure that is why the screen tilts instead of being in fixed position. Necessary as one size/position doesn't really fit all.
I look at it another way. Forget the screen altogether and you still have a bargain at $1200 with this hardware.
Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but mine is there is way to much being made about the bb screen. If you need better viewing angles or true HD look at another model. Very easy solution.
I would go to bb and compare any number of different 1k machines for yourself before believing all the screen doom and gloom. -

I am pretty happy with the 1200 BB version. Only thing that will make me return it and go through the hassle of selling the store credit through ebay and then buying the 240 dollar more expensive model is if I saw both and the 1080p screen was like a pioneer kuro.
Sometimes you have to justify to yourself that the extra money you just spent was worth it. So you find every flaw in the lower models because now you are stuck with the "upgrade". It actually works both ways ( at least for me ). Sometimes you spend the extra money then feel like crap because it's the same thing and you could have saved some money. -
The BB model looked fine to me. I also have a Pioneer Elite

Good to hear you guys are liking your lappies.
Anyone feel like the cpu throttling mentioned in the other thread is problematic?
It's the thing that's holding me back the most. -

I'll be checking it out now. -

Apparently I live in a low tax county. 5%
-
I get can like 100+ fps on counterstrike source with near max settings on this thing, and @SDdash; what do u mean by cpu throttling?
-
When the laptop is running on battery it basically won't overclock itself like it's suppose to. No big deal. This thing shouldn't be away from a outlet anyways.
-
Edit: Meever beat me to it lol. -
two hundred dollars for:
Bluetooth
2 Extra gigs of ram
670gb of storage
50 dollar backpack
50 dollar mouse
1 year of accidental warranty
2 years of standard warranty
Higher resolution screen with better color and viewing angle
I think that's a total bargain for 200 dollars.
No need to be hostile folks, they're both great deals. XD -

Played with the in store model, screen is fine for most people and those that are weary because of the doom and gloomers posting should just go and see for themselves. The machine is beautiful, the screen is alright and the price is pretty good.

The high res was a deal breaker for me. I need to do other work on the machine and the 1920 is just too hard on my eyes for long periods and don't like using machines not at default res.
I would have went with a MSI gx if the bb model didn't have the 1600. Of course I would be waiting on the MSI until late Apr at the earliest.
So this worked out perfect for me. -
Still $200 is not bad at all. BB just had it in stock and it was an impulse buy. I hate waiting when I want it. -
It would have been more than $200 and I had $1250 saved up and I wanted it now.
It's been great so far.

is the Bestbuy g73jh High Definition at 1600x900? If yes is it 720p?
If not then why did BestBuy advertised it as High Def?
Thanks -

I'm tempted to sell my Sager and go for the G73. I have a 320GB 7200RPM that would fit nicely in there too! I'm ok with 6GB, more than enough for me.
You think this would be a good trade-up? I'm sure I could get close to $1100 for my Sager with Q9200 Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz, GTX 260m, 15.4" 1680x1050, 500GB 7200RPM, 4GB DDR3 1066. Or maybe the BB G73 will lower the value of my Sager? -
is the g73jh cpu i7 mobile edition, or i7 mobile extreme edition, or i7 vpro edition? Thanks
-
The Asus G73Jh models available from BestBuy, G73JH-RBBX05 and G73JH-RBBX09, both come with the Intel® Core i7-720QM, only. The G73Jh-A1, (or A2), stock cpu is the same Intel® Core i7-720QM, but some resellers offer the option of upgrading it to the Intel® Core i7-820QM, or the Intel® Core i7-920XM (Extreme Edition). These are all from the Intel® Core i7 Mobile Processor line of CPUs.
Good Luck.. -
Nice machine. It's a nice upgrade from my G51, which I did love, but am selling to a friend to offset the cost of the new toy. And it's a great compliment to the M11x, makes the M11x feel even smaller ha! This thing is big, bigger than even my old Toshiba X205! But, a good big, great ergo's, sweet design. I've been impressed. And for $1200 hard to beat. -
I'm getting mine tomorrow, I just didn't want to wait. It helped that I had an $800 BB card from a return and bing's measly little 2% wasn't bad either. Went for the cheaper one figured I wasn't going to pay for an extra hdd figure I'll throw in a ssd sooner or later. And the lower res screen was actually a plus CS and other games just don't look right in full hd
-
If you order online but do in-store pickup can you still get bing cashback?
-
Bing CB has gone up to 10% on rare occassions but I would just go for it if I really needed a laptop right now since these tend to sell out quick. -
Would it be possible to change the LCD from the BB model to a 1920X1080 screen? If so, anyone know some good places to find one? Thanks!
-
whoever considering to buy this should go ahead!!!
SO CALLED best buy model G73 (i heard this hear by the way best buy model?)
well anyway
i got one!
it is the same laptop as the one they sell on newegg for 1599, but hey you're gonna save around 500 bucks.
what's the catch?
only two things
Screen resolution, and 8Gb of ram
Remember this it is better to have a screen resoluition 1600 x 900 for games!
secondy you won't see any performance increase from 6 to 8 GIG
Also to clarify Ram specs; mine is 6GB DDR3 1333Mhz (that's what it says on BIOS) not 1066 just like many claims.
battelfield bad comapny 2, modern warfare 2, crysis warhead, ALL HIGH SETTINGS, 1280 x 1024 resolution works flawlessly -
so you're saying that it is LOGICAL to pay 500 more for just the screen option? -
Cheers,
