    Is it required to do a thorough thermal repasting of the GPU only or can it also be applied to the CPU as well?

    You could do both if you wanted to, but a fair warning for the CPU if you break the sticker no more warranty. So don't do the CPU unless you don't care about the warranty.

    one question to everyone who have repasted the gpu, it is better only repaste the gpu and leave the memory's alone with the old termal pads? or repaste everything with, for example, an arctic cooling mx-3?
    this is my dilemma...

    Considering your going to the extent of tearing down the system, why not replace the memory too, seeing as how that is what heats up the most.
