I don't like the fact that this adapter has no ground but as long as the tip is the right one, it should work. I'd still try to find an adapter with a plug that also has a ground though.

ok did a err ebay search for g51j 150w adapter and got nothing but 2 prong. Doesn't the g73 adapter work in the g51? Anyone got one to sell?

Yes, the G73 adapter will work as long as the laptop uses a L1 tip adapter. I'm pretty sure a targus APA05US would also work.

L1 and L2 both have the pin on the laptop's power jack, L3 has the pin on the adapter's jack. L1 is completely round, while L2 has two small notches in the middle. L1 and L2 are often interchangeable.

You cna see L2, L1, L3 from left to right in that picture.

tijo...that is going to work right? If so what is the exact name of the adapter i should do for a search? I just touched my AC Adapter and the heatsinks on it almost burned me....lol if i didn't ahve those heatsinks on it...it would not run lol. I would be overloading it :) I need the new adapter before i get the 920xm and start overvolting.

If you mean the name of the Asus adapter, i have absolutely no idea. The 180W is the Targus APA05US. I have been using it with my JH without any problems.

You can get the adapter for a very high price from Asus: 150 Watt AC Adapter. You could get the APA05US from amazon though: Amazon.com: Lite-On AC Power Adapter PA-1181-08, APA05US. 19V/9.5A, 180W for Acer Aspire 1360, 1510, 1520, 1660/1670 / Acer TravelMate 2000, 2200, 2500, 2600, 2700, 3000 / Compaq Presario R3000 series / Fujitsu: N3010, N5010, N6000, N6010 / HP: ZD700. Strange, as it used to go for ~$40 before. Anyways, the APA05US comes with the 3 tips in the pic i posted earlier so it will fit any laptop. Just make sure that your G51 uses a 19V +/- 0.5V adapter.

That adapter should work, i'm not familiar with the brand, so i can't comment on reliability though.
