Hey guys, just a quick ? here
I'm out here in Kansas, and summers here generally get into the 90's, some days we may peak at 100, but those are rare. Anyways, I'm currently using my Asus G73 Best Buy model in an upstairs room, but it's cooler downstairs so when temperatures start getting higher, towards end of April/early May, etc I'll probably take my G73 downstairs where it's cooler, especially when gaming. I'm trying to avoid any overheats at all.
Would a laptop cooling mat benefit me much? Do they help out the GPU much at all?
As for my current temps, I just tested out Metro 2033 for about 5 minutes and Hwinfo says my max GPU temp was 82c, though I think I saw it peak into the 90s earlier this week, it may have been a hotter day, I'm not sure, but it may just have been one of my longer gaming sessions. Is this decent? My laptop is a little over a week old. I don't think I have a bad paste job, I read those get your temps into the 90's and 100's easily.
Any other tips appreciated, thanks!

The temps you are mentioning if they are the max temp from HWINFO32 then you have nothing to worry about anything in the 80's 90's is perfectly normal for a G73 under load as the GPU's do run hot. Just keep an eye on the temps and if they go up into the 100's then it might be a good idea to blow some canned air into the exhaust to clear out any dust or blockage as you would be suprised how much gets in there.
Make sure you have the latest Vbios and drivers and treat a repaste as a last resort. -
