I'll give those drivers a shot. arigato. -
Any news on the issue?
-
asus dont care to respond about this, or the keyboard thing, they act as if it doesnt exist... -
when they are selling this laptop they need to give some informations how buggy those laptops can be (but ofcourse they won't do that ..they just want to take our money )
1600 $ for a very problematic laptop -
i really wish this issue would be resolved...this is so unacceptable.
-
and what the wrong with those synaptics drivers
every driver has different option
using latest Touchpad_Synaptics_V15.1.18.0
and none of two fingers scroling rotate three fingers are available
14.0.3 was best for me i think
going to try some other v15 drivers with all of the options -
The touchpad issue is tied to the keyboard lag/dropped keys issue, which is why in that thread I have both drivers redone. So success in one will be for both.
-
Did the new 213 bios fix this issue? I'm a bit confused...
Cheers,
Peter -

I have 213 bios, ATK 1.0.0008 and i still got the lag with both Synaptic 15.2.11.1 and v15.2.7. The driver which works best for me is this one New HP Touchpad Driver that Unlocks Multi-Touch on older Touchpad - www.hardwarezone.com.sg. It is version 15.2.4.4 but for some reason it works the best.

edit:
SIGH. Trackpad still failing. There really doesn't seem to be a solution. -
-
So no fix yet huh??
-
If the software fix doesn't work, RMA it
-
I saw in one forum the solution is to remove the tape under touchpad then cleaning the residues.
Actually, anyone have a solution to it or did something like that? -
-
I have a G74SX that I bought 2 weeks ago and I have the same issue, except it's not with a Synaptic Touchpad but with a Sentilic touchpad. I had the default drivers and tried the latest and it does the samething. This is really annoying; I sent Asus an Email and will see what the tech support says but it kills me to send my laptop for a week for such a stupid problem, unless I return the laptop @Costco...

Go into the finger sensing pad config and hit the Asus SmartSense tab. Adjust the size of the active area to fit with your typing style.

i got an RMA for my g73jh-1 for the erratic touchpad issue.
i live in CT, so i was going to use NSI - Welcome for the RMA
because they are about a 30 minute drive from where i live and i can physically drop and pick-up the machine there.
any recommendations as to what i can tell them to insure a proper resolution?
forinstance, is there a replacement touchpad part number that is properly grounded?
or does the fix require that legendary physical operation of removing some foil backing?
any tips appreciated...
thanx,
tony... -
well, i dropped the machine, and the guys at the service center indicated that they would probably just swap out the touchpad. what do you think the chances of that resolving the issue are?
what i mean to ask is: does anyone think the latest replacement touchpads have addressed the grounding/static issues?
like for instance, i thought i have read that some units of the later models, g74xxx, also have similar touchpad issues...
is the aforementioned foil backing part of the touchpad part itself? in other words, if they swap out the touchpad will the foil backing and associated glue be swapped out as well, or is the foil backing and glue not part of the touchpad part itself (and therefore will remain even if they swap out the touch pad)...? -
ok, so i'm a little late in responding, but the issue actually got fixed. i was able to get chastity to call the tech at nsi and describe the fix which was carried out succesfully. i'm not sure of the exact detail, but the tech described something about covering the back of the trackpad with electrical tape which kind of makes sense if it was a static electricity grounding thing.
