I have a G74SX-XR1. When my left palm is pressed down on the palm rest near the touchpad, but not actually touching it, it activates the pointer and will click wherever on the page the pointer happens to be or sometimes will activate the pinch and zoom. Also the keyboard will miss keystrokes sometimes. I changed the Palm Check settings in the Synaptics Pointing device settings to maximum, but I continue to have problems. I can't find anywhere to change settings for the keyboard. Any ideas?

Also, I'm thinking about upgrading the optical drive to a Blu Ray burner. Any suggestions?

Ok, I saw Chastity's (thanks Chastity) link for the updated ATK package in another thread and it does seem to smooth out the keyboard a bit, but it's still far from perfect.

I've never done a BIOS update before. What is the procedure?

EDIT: Nvm. I figured it out. It was exactly as easy as I thought it would be. Thanks again!
