I have a Sager NP8662. It has served me well. But I'm itching to get something with a better GPU. I may be able to net ~ $1050-$1100 from selling my Sager. I would then buy the $1199 Best Buy G73.
I do love the build quality and brushed aluminum of my Sager, but an i7 and HD5870 would be nice. I'm a bit put off by the 1600x900 resolution though. I like a larger workspace for desktop work. 1680x1050 on my Sager is nice and really minimum I'd prefer, but for the price and what else you get it's almost worth it.
So, any thoughts, opinions?

I'd avoid getting the Best Buy version of the G73 and go with the full-fledged G71JH-A1 or A2 from online resellers. If you factor in the sales tax from BB, the A1/A2 SKUs are better bang for buck laptops. Even if money is an issue, I'd still recommend you to make the extra effort and save the difference and go with the A1/A2. The upgraded hardware and additional tech support from a reputable reseller far outweighs the additional costs.

Thanks. I think I will just wait. I got a chance to take a look at the G73 at BB today. Nice machine, but I like my Sager. I'll probably hold on to that for a while until I find something that comes along that is a more significant upgrade. GTX 260m does what I need for now. I'm sure there will be other significant revisions and new releases in 3-6 months from Asus or elsewhere.
Trade up Sager NP8662 for Best Buy G73?
