I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what the problem with my laptop could be. I recently turned my laptop into a hackintosh so that a friend and I could submit an ios game (thanks for making that difficult Apple!). Anyway, after the game was approved I wanted to reload windows onto my laptop (not a huge fan of OSX so I didn't want it on there anymore). I ran dban to wipe the hard drive. That ran for about a half hour when the screen started to scroll with a bunch of code that I didn't understand. I shut my laptop off with the power button, then tried to install windows. My laptop will currently stay stuck at the ASUS boot screen. I can hear the dvd drive work, and I can hear the hard drive spinning, but nothing happens. I can't enter the bios, or the boot menu. If I turn it on with the hard drive removed I can enter the bios screen. I tried hooking the hard drive up to my desktop to see if it could recognize it (thinking maybe a dead drive). I was able to partition the hard drive and format it with NTFS using the disk manager just fine. I threw it back into my laptop and still nothing. So I thought I would see if anyone could give me a hand with figuring this out! Thanks!

Giving this a quick bump. Still haven't figured it out.

Have you tried using the other slot and resetting your bios settings?

Ah, yeah I have tried to start it with the drive in the other bay, but I was still unable to enter the bios. I forgot to change the settings in the bios to run the drive in the second bay. I try and start it up without the hd in, change the bios settings, and see if that doesn't fix it.

It's worth trying another drive, if that does not work then a reflash of the bios may be needed.
