Turbo Problem? initial set-up advice?

Hi. New to forum, though have been reading a lot, appreciate all the great info I have already gotten, helped me to purchase jh3-bst7 yesterday. Few quick questions if you don't mind.

note, I have always built my own pcs, but went to ps3 a few years back, and have just used my comp for basic surfing/office apps. That said, I'm a few years out of the tech loop, and while I'll pick up fast, I apologize if I post any stupid ques's. Also, first time using Win7..

1) DL'd sis'Sandra and am grabbing 3dmark06 atm. When installing DirectX, I got an error that it did not install correctly. When I look at diag, it states all is well and ver. 11 is running. error log reported a fiel in use conflict during install. Should I be concerned?

2) Saw all the bios posts. This puppy came with 211bios. Do I need to look into vbios as well? (I've only ever done main bios, not very fmailiar with vbios, but imagine it's video related?) Anything else to review before I accept this as up to date?

3) Turbo: It seems as if my turbo is active whether or not I have it enabled or disabled via turbo button (graphics show it boosting in both modes). My benchmark results likely also attest to this, as I read multiple times about decreased perfrmance in most tasks due to heat cap & cpu. I'm fine with not oc-ing at this point, I bought this comp with enough power so I don't have to worry about that atm. Any advice regarding this issue?

4) I've done the bloatware removal, create restore/image, etc... Before I start loading games and software, are there any main tasks you would recommend, or perhaps a thread containing start up/new laptop to-do list? I want to make this as clean as possible, and again, being out of the loop for a while, hope to not miss anything most might take for granted now?
