I have been reading this and other forums for the past few years. To everyone that did the leg work/testing to figure out what was required For this swap out, you rock and thanks. Since my dotted line of dead pixels had expanded into a 1/8" thick white bar down the middle of my screen AND my video card died it was time for me to try some upgrades and repairs. For the screen swap here is what I found:

Their were multiple screens listed on the forums that supposedly work, the one I ordered was: LP156WF1(TL)(A1)
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/310227014241?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I did not verify that exact brand/model screen was received because the merchant had some compatibility sticker over the label and I didn't feel like peeling it off so I just installed and hoped for the best

I tried ordering the cable that one of the other members on this board members had luck with. 1422-00K6000, as many have had happen they shipped me a 1422-00GX000 in a bag that said K6. after being frustrated trying to talk the merchant on identifying it I just did a search for G51v LCD cable and this came up.

    1422-00SG000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/271260788765?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

by some strange stoke of luck there are 3 or 4 different merchants on ebay and they ALL have up close pictures showing the connectors on these cables. Since this part number looked to have the correct number of wires from multiple merchant's pictures AND it was only $20 compared to the other cables usually listing around $50 I Gave it a shot.

The good news for anyone still interested in upgrading is 1422-00SG000 has all the extra wires, costs less and is available from Multiple merchants that ship from within the US(the one I ordered shipped from new jersey)

Now I have a matte finish full HD screen with no dead lines for a total of about $75 including the cost to return one cable..

So you got a 1920x1080p screen working no problems with that cable?
