I have stock bios, vbios, and video drivers, and I was just wondering what I need to do to put on the msi vbios and 209 bios, do I put them both on a flash drive? I kinda understand the guides, but can someone link me a clear explaination? I dont feel like bricking my laptop, I just want to play beta FFXIV :(

Which order do I go about updating?

Did you look at this thread? g73 gsod fixes resources

It has a pretty detailed explanation. It's not listing the exact vBIOS that you are wanting to flash, but Chastity's explanation of how to make the bootable drive and do the flash are very good.

I don't have GSOD so I can't speak from experience but everybody says it's a good fix if you don't care about HDMI or VGA output. I have upgraded my vBIOS to the one Chastity posted in the thread I mentioned so I know the instructions are good.

I'm sure you already know this but make SURE you use the older MSI vBios listed in the forums. The latest vBIOS for the MSI laptop will brick your laptop.

yeah, I never really updated anything like this (so I never got any GSOD / VSOD) seeing as I didn't need to for games like BFBC2 and LoL, but now I want to play FFXIV and I need 10.6+ to play it, and with the current vBIOS and BIOS i have, I get constant VSOD and GSOD everytime I try and load the FFXIV, so hopefully doing this will help.

I was playing the XIV beta as well, and using 10.6 it was crashing on me repeatedly, it was only after I uninstalled and driver sweepered it and went with the drivers I got on my disc did I find that XIV ran for any appreciable amount of time. Of course, that was when I ran my GPU too hot for too long and my stock thermal paste started failing.
