Hi Anyone have any experience of whether this bios update (209 to 211) has any impact on games or overall performance? Also should the the usb drive be formatted using fat or ntfs? I am planning on updating using the easyflash method. Thanks.

I thought 211 was the one that fixed some of the issues like sound freezing, and 213 was a waste of time

209 Fixed various issues, 211 changed the fan profile and 213 fixed the touchpad/keyboard issues for some users.

Let's make it very simple for everyone: use 213.

Forget that the other BIOS's exist.

(I've discovered over the years as an IT Supporter and Manager, that it's best not to give those supported a choice in anything. They'll wind up fretting over their choices, and wonder what could be better.)

I own a g53jw and as the asus website only has two bios - 210 and 211. I would really appreciate it if anyone can comment on 211's impact on overall performance (particularly games).

There will be no impact at all in regards to performance.

o.k. thanks - but what issues does this bios address? All Asus states is that it is a firmware change - not exactly very informative.

The threads I have read refer to the 211 for the g73 series which addresses fan issues. The 211 bios for my model g53jw however simply states firmware update. I am aware that the 213 bios firmware update tackles keyboard lighting issues, but I am trying to work out what the 211 bios for my model does. It would have been helpful if you could have provided me with some information, by the way, rather than just gloat about the fact that you know and I don't

I believe the most recent BIOS's contain the updated settings for keyboards and trackpads.
