I didn't even see the JW slip into the scene. And I know most laptops are locked into it's hardware. But I haven't seen the internal workings of the G73JH so wasn't sure.

Would it be possible to upgrade to the Nvidia 460 and the new sound card? I love my JH but as nutty as it sounds considered trying to sell and get a JW for those two items. If I could just upgrade, I would definitely consider it instead.

The review said that it depends on your preference, if you want superior gaming get JH but if you want PhysX get JW. If you want better sound system get an external speaker than JW with almost same size of the speaker and power (diff option). Of course it depends on you if you feel you want to have a newer model, go :)

The jump from the JH to the JW is...small. Very small. Not worth it really, if you have a perfectly working JH then stick with it because it's still one of the big boys around.

No, you cant upgrade the JH with the GTX 460m. Youd need a different motherboard, heatsink and Bios support for the GPU, all of which you dont have.

    The JW has a few things the JH does not;
    - Better touchpad (2 buttons instead of the darn single tilt button)
    - USB 3.0
    - GTX 460m (not better, actually just a little weaker, but much cooler and more stable GPU)...

Youll have to decide for yourself if its worth it for you...

You can take the JW's 460M and swap it into a JH, as long as you also swap the fan and heatsink. ;)

And IF it would fit on the JH motherboard, get a Bios with support for the GTX 460m for it. But since it doesnt...
You have to swap the motherboard to the JW's too. The GTX 460m is larger, so it wont fit on the JH motherboard and the screw holes are also positioned differently.
Youre better off just buying the JW than.

Anyone want to bet it's the same motherboard, but has a 3.0 add-on card for one port?

Its MUCH bigger and takes up more room on the motherboard and the screw holes are different as you can see from this photo of a JW motherboard with the GPU.

They are not the same .. They had to reposition the WLAN card just to squeeze in the Video card and the USB 3.0 port is tied directly to the motherboard and not just a card... Similar yes but not the same..

Also the hole in the bottom where the reset switch is does not actually have a reset switch there on the JW so when you push something through the hole you will just hit the motherboard..

So there are certainly some differences and i would not suggest anyone trying to flash the JW BIOS on there JH :)..

A photo of a JH motherboard for comparison.

I think this should illustrate just how different they are... :)

That would be lame. Are they still using the HM55 chipset? If so, then I imagine they definitely duct taped a 3.0 port on :)

It's almost double size than the 5870m

That way is colder than JH, the heatsink is double too. With this cooling system the jh should be an ice block.
