So, I ordered the Amazon G74 for $1500 which doesn't have a Blu-ray drive. I did some research and it seems that I can upgrade it by buying a "slim-line" internal drive.

There are only two "slim" internal drives on Newegg... I think this one has a reasonable price, and I want to buy it and replace the Asus drive with it:
    Newegg.com - Sony Optiarc Black 4X BD-ROM 8X DVD-ROM 24X CD-ROM SATA Slim Internal 12.7mm Tray Blu-ray COMBO Model BC-5500H-01 - Blu-Ray Drives

I don't know how to upgrade/replace it, though...

Does anyone have any step-by-step instructions or general ideas on how to upgrade the G74 optical drive/tray/ to the Sony Blu-ray drive/tray?

Also: anyone have any links to other slim internal drives? I would like to possibly get something slightly better than that Sony drive, for maybe $100.

    Thanks!
