Hi. Has anyone who bought the BB model bothered to upgrade any of their components with any success? I've been looking into upgrading the LCD screen (I'd like to upgrade to a 1080p screen), the DVD drive to a Blu-ray drive and the ram from 6GB to 8GB. I know changing out the DVD drive is a piece of cake but what about the other two? Also where might one find parts and what kind of ram would be good for the G73?

    Edit: G73JH-RBBX05 not 95. -.- Damn typos.

You need more than 6 gig? Well, it uses DDR3 1333MHz laptop memory.

Blue-Ray is the easyest - just need to unscrew 3 screws and swap the drives.
To install the fourh sodimm and screen, you have to dissassemble the entire notebook (except flipping the motherboard over which is the most annoying part to me), which is quiet some work, and you have to check what kind of ram you have - some have 1066mhz hynix, some have 1333mhz kingston, i have 1333mhz hynix. Its not really hard if you know what youre doing...
Google/ebay parts by parts numbers or look on Asus parts site.

The ram is actually really easy, there is an open slot on the underbelly and you just slide the new stick in at a 45 degree angle then pop it down and your done. The screen will require you to most likely take off the keyboard as well as the plastic strip above the hinges.
