Ok, so i looked pretty much everywhere, but could't find information on this.

on the boot loading screen, the bios and stuff, you press ESC for choosing the boot device. MY external HD dosn't show up on this screen, and it has a
different OS already installed and running on it.
How do I make the boot / bios Recognize it, in order to boot from it!? I tried different boot slots, tried adding USB on the bios , but still nothing happens.

Help would be much appreciated.

I have a USB thumb drive formatted to boot up into a DOS system - When I have it connected to my G73 and boot up pressing the ESC key I get the "Please Select boot device:" menu and my USB device is listed there.

If you have your USB (external HDD) connected and it has a valid bootable partition then you should see a "USB" option. Prior to the menu showing up, you should also see the light on your USB device flicker, this is the BIOS polling the device to validate bootability (I assume).

Can you boot to this device from a different computer?

From what I understand the device needs to be connected to the G73 prior to power on. Also there is an option under the "boot" menu in the BIOS called "Add New Boot Option" - go into this menu and if your device is recognized you can add it as a boot uption within the BIOS and move it to the top of the "priority" list.

    Hope this helps,
    In Christ,
    Trav...

Just a guess here, but try going into the bios and see if there is a option to enable legacy usb devices. My 60vx wouldn't boot from usb if that option was disabled in the bios.
