There are times when I want to just swap the power from my G73JH and plug in my UL30VT. I have looked at the power bricks and the voltage is not that different...19.5V on the G73JH vs 19V on the UL30VT. The adapter physically fits (there was no power going through it when I tried this of course!) I'm assuming that the amperage difference won't matter because the UL30VT wouldn't pull more than it needs.
But I'm scared to actually try it.
What do you guys think?

bad idea... the extra 0.5V might fry ur UL30.. i wouldn't do it anyways in the first place..

Well, what is the amperage difference?
If it were me, I wouldn't. I think it's better paying $30 for a new AC adapter, rather than paying $1000 for a new notebook. -
And even if you don't believe me, you've always got your warranty. -
The power brick should be fine. It only delivers what is demanded by the unit plugged in. Plugging in a 90W laptop into a 180W power brick will not toast the laptop, it will only draw 90W. Also, the voltage difference shouldn't be bad. I'm using a 19V / 9.5A (180W) Targus brick for my G73. Also, the laptop should have some voltage protection. Plug it in while it is powered off. If the recharge led comes on, all is well.
Using G73JH AC adapter on UL30VT?
