The X9100 will smash the T9900 because the extreme models can be unlocked and overclocked to the owners hearts content.

Or at least until the plugs melt or the mobo explodes :D

will the g51vx motherboard be able to handle the x9100 tho? if i use stock clock for x9100 44W wouldn't be a problem will it, as he said it is cheaper so I am REALLY considering it.

or I just might just get the t9600 if 2.8 ghz duo will have significant gaming performance increase then the s**tty p7350 2.0ghz that i have

the first as the difference between t96 and p97 is not much.

the 3rd and 4th may cause you trouble with compatibility.

    t99 is too expensive

Is it easy to change the CPU? I've had mine for two years and I'm about ready for an upgrade.

are you sure I can't go with the x9100? it is dual core isn't it? I just saw on another thread that says the rx-motherboard is not compatible with any quad core.

also, compatibility aside, is a dual core with higher clockspeed better or a quad with lower?

so no need for fan upgrade? should i be aware of how long i am playing? I don't usually leave the temperature monitor open since I always feel like it uses too much cpu usage and ram.

I'd go for a X9100. ThrottleStop should be able to manage its multiplier and power usage, that's more than just increasing the FSB, from the case of i7 CPU I knew that Extreme version is the only kind of intel CPU that's worth upgrading to because the multiplier and the power usage are fully unlocked.

I've been experiencing temporary frame rate drops since I installed the E8435. I haven't overclocked.

Is there any way to fix this?

do the vent mod if you have not done it allready and then get nice cooler like the coolermaster notepal u3, which you can move the fan under the open hole you made with the vent mod :p

wait you have p8600? have you ever used e8430(or wutever we were talking about lol)? how hot is it? i mean if it doesn't do permanent damage to my gears Im cool with battery life reduce, i mean is a gaming LAPTOP how long do I really need it to run without plugin for. besides I can turn down the power option in battery mode.

have you ever use it? how did it treat you?

A E8435-3.06 is rated at 44W TDP (max). If it did run hot then you have the option of using Throttletop to undervolt it at it's max multiplier. Penryn CPUs have a lot of headroom so undervolt very well. They start at US$76 on ebay, cheaper than even a T9600, so represents excellent value for money.

bought a t9600 , kinda dumb i paid 90 bucks should have make a lower offer to the seller in the first place, but o well, let's just see what this baby can do, i plan on OCing so i don't wanna burn my gears with e8 stuff(they mostly have c0, the e0 step are all expensive).

whats the recommended oc range for t9600? think it will be enough for BF3 on medium settings?

The X9100 is a lot more expensive though. You'd get another 20% performance perhaps (3.8+GHz vs 3.3GHz) for >250% of the price. Also, heat.

X9100 QHBQ (E0) is successfully overclocked at 4.38Ghz here. That's the coolest running, highest performance dual-core for your system that only requires overclocking via unlocked multipliers.
