    Hello.

Last week I ran the ATI Overdrive auto tune to try to over clock. It ran for about an hour and ended up freezing..keyboard froze up, couldn't exit out. I had to just power down. The computer didn't feel close to hot but after I restarted I got these weird small green square artifacts appearing on the screen followed by a solid gray screen. restarted, same problem.

I tried restarting again with the computer unplugged from the power and I guess the different profile for battery mode didn't agitate it enough to produce the problem...I went into the overclock settings and just set it back to the defaults, restarted again with the computer plugged and and everything was smooth sailing for a few days.

Last night, windows performed an update and the second I touched it the green squares came back..then gsod again!

I tried uninstalling the ATI drivers completely and going back to the last one asus released...same problem. So I rolled back the computer to before the last windows update and now the problem is gone again, and the updated ATI drivers are back as well.

Anyone have any idea what the hell is going on?

Please post your VBIOS version as well as the version of CCC you are using.

    VBIOS is 012.020.000.032.0383.g730

aaaaand now i can't open CCC to tell the version but in device manager the driver version of the card is 8.892.3.0 if that helps.

Also, I installed the "important" windows updates and left off the recommended ones to see if that made a difference and so far no problems.

    1) AutoTune is not a useful tool, as it will generate a setting that is too high for stable use. I would start with 800/1100 and tweak from there.

    2) If instability persists, do a full uninstall of the Catalyst, and reinstall, preferably with 12.01
