I don't think so, since the G73 has a reversed MXM port.

    1) I doubt that the bios would support it - i dont see why Asus would add support for a card that will never be sold in their system.
    2) The chips and coils on the gpus are positioned differently, actually the cards arent even the same size, so the heatsink probably couldnt properly cool the fx 3800m.
    3) The fx 3800m is a 100w gpu, while the mobility 5870 is a 65w gpu, so the g73jh probably also couldnt provide enough juice for the quadro card.

Sorry, but you should forget ever upgrading a g73jhs GPU...

Why not just wait and hope ati come up with a FireGL card that uses the same card as the 5870? Its always been known that the radeon and firegl cards were more or less the same. The difference was in the drivers. Currently there's is no Firegl version of the 5xxx cards. So we can hope ati makes them and we could use the softmodded drivers. I used to do it on my old radeon cards. There's a lot of info on this at "guru3d"

Well, if a suitable one comes into production, don't you think BY DEFINITION that it's suitable?
