My processor has recently achieved a stable idle operating temperature of 73c. Naturally, I decided to repaste processor. Onlyth to be met with a warranty voided if removed sticker.

I have about a year left on my warranty, but I don't want to void it just to repaste.

But I also don't want to lose another 4 weeks sending the unit in to an RMA centre.

    Any thoughts on another option?

1: Steam the sticker off and glue it back on.
2: Rip the sticker off and hope nothing requires them to reach the underside of the mobo.

Sadly your best choice with a years warranty is RMA. Have you blown the fans out with compressed air? make sure the airflow is nice and clear. Otherwise it does sounds like a poor/dodgy paste job.

I've cleaned both side fans and their exhausts. Temps don't seem to be going down.

I think I'll steam it off, thanks.

At your own risk fella but if you really dont want to wait it your only choice try and glue it back down as convincing as possible. Using removal glue of course not super glue. Personally never buy into Warranty's so im all game for you repasting yourself if your already at the motherboard. Job done.

Looks like we are having a lot of bickering about pasting so I am closing this thread. Posts have been deleted.

    OP,

Do a search and look for threads about repasting(it is very common, so you can find a good amount of threads) and other cooling methods(undervolting or using a cooling pad). But, In the end, it is your machine and you have decide.

Remember, heat and technology don't mix well and repasting or sending it in now(when you have time) is a better choice than dealing with a potential "time tomb" that could cause trouble in the future(having it fail when you are doing something important could mean losing more than just time for a RMA).
