I added 16gb (2 8gb sticks) of G.SKILL 204-Pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) ram to an Asus G73jh laptop and the WIE memory score dropped .5 points. The Cas latency of the new ram is 9 and the timing is 9-9-9-24. I'm just wondering what would make the memory score go down after increasing the memory and if I should put the two 2gb sticks of ram back in and return this new ram. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Don't read too much into WEI. The application is flawed at best. The scores are pointless. If you see a significant drop then I would test the ram and make sure you don't have a bad stick.

The way it reports performance is what's the most flawed. It runs benchmarks then converts the data obtained (transfer rate in MB/s for RAM) to a numerical score. We don't know how it translate it to a score, so it's kinda hard to say how much of a drop will affect the actual score. The benchmarks run aren't all that representative of certain situations, but at least, in the background it does collect some relevant data.

    For example, this:

    Translates to this:

It also greatly depends on your current load and active processes on your system. The more is actively running, the lower is the score.
