Wanted: G51 LVDS Cable

Does anyone no where I can buy the internal cable that goes to the LCD display? There are two different versions of the cable, one for 1366 x 768 and one for 1920 x 1080. I need the one for a G51 that supports 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Unfortunately I don't have the part number for the hi-res one. If anyone has the correct part number for the 1920 x 1080 cable that would also be a huge help. It would be a lot easier for me to track one of these down if I knew the part number.

I have been looking for one of these for several weeks. I have looked on the Asus e-store but they do not list it. I have also been watching e-bay for the cable or even a dead laptop that would have the correct cable. I haven't found one though.

Any help you can provide, with either the part number or a source to by the cable, would be greatly appreciated.

I have been in the same boat and am sitting on 2 1920x1080 LCD's heh. If anyone has the info, please post it up. I will continue looking on my limited time and post up info if I find. Granted I could just drive down to Asus' NA headquarters 20 mins away--but thats a last resort and a low blow.

 

I still have not found the part number, but if I do I will post it here. I have sent a couple of private messages to people on here who should know the number or be able to track it down, but they have not responded yet.

I have also sent some e-mails to Asus, but we are doing the usual back and forth where they see my e-mail, think of a reason not to help me, then send back a question in the hopes that I will just stop asking for help. A common tactic of some first line support people to get out of actually helping someone.

Their latest e-mail is asking me for the serial number, which I obviously can't give them. If I tell them the serial number for my laptop, they will give me back the part number for the cable in my laptop that only supports 1366 x 768.

So, if anyone has a serial number for any G51 model that has a 1920 x 1080 screen that would be a huge help (assuming Asus will actually give over the part number in the next e-mail). It can even be a dead laptop that doesn't even work for that matter. If you don't want to post it here, you could also send it to me through a private message. I promise to only use it to send to Asus so I can get the part number and then post the part number back here.
