Hi. Recently I bought a external HDD from Seagate, it is not a portable one so I have to plug in power for it to run with my G73JH. Weirdly, when I am trying to connect the HDD to the laptop through the USB ports at the left side of the laptop (when I'm using the laptop), the HDD cannot be detected (sometimes the power indicator lights up but sometimes don't). However, when I tried it on the right side USB ports, it will work flawlessly (power indicator lights up and drive is detected).

Is there any difference between the ports on the left and right? For other USB devices I have no problem using whichever USB ports so I do not think the USB ports are faulty. Moreover, since the external HDD requires an power source and do not draw power from USB, it shouldn't be a power problem as well.

Any ideas on that? Thanks in advance.
