I have a Asus G53J gaming laptop that is about 5 months old.. I all of a sudden was doing reserch on google when something very random happened. The screen had gray static (like on tv when u have no cable plugged in) accept the static wasn't completely covering the screen. I could still see everything but there was random static all over. I don't think I could click anything allmost as if it was frozen yet I could move the mouse. I restarted and everything was back to normal - or so I thought.

Now I get green fuzz/static/pixels on top of any black color on the screen. The green does not cover the black 100% just a bit of it. It seems to go away if i move the laptop a bit with my hands. Wondering what is going on here. I have done some googling and found that It could be a driver problem (unlikely as I recently updated my video card drivers and also If it were the drive then me moving the laptop probably wouldn't fix it).

I sort of narrowed it down to a loose cable inside? Maybe a faulty one? If it was only a loose cable then how come the first time this happened it was gray colors and I couldn't click anything on my desktop?

Yep - If moving the laptop temporarily resolves or changes the issue; it is a hardware problem. If the issue appears only on the laptop display when the laptop is connected to an external monitor or LCD TV, a faulty LVDS cable connection, faulty LVDS cable, or a faulty screen could be possible causes. If it occurs on both displays, a poorly seated or defective Video display adapter may be at fault.

okay so its not a driver issue.. i did a repaste on my GPU and the "green fuzzy stuff" didnt come out anymore...

What I did was when I removed my GPU from its socket, I cleaned the gold pins on the PCB and also the ones on the socket since there where some smudges. I put i back in gently and perfectly and as reassmbled my g53, i made sure all of the wires where tightly fit back together..

Now the green fuzz is gone so it was by either the cleaning of the gold pins or tightly putting all the wires together..
