If I had some "money to spend," I'd be looking at a $6,000-$7,000 Custom Notebook......However, I'm looking for tops a $2,000 ASUS.

    BTW, I already have a Lamborghini :D

Thank you...I will look into that Model. :)

Thanks Ruckus. I'll wait for the G73JH replacement. I'm not in a hurry.

its true that the 460m is weaker, but according to benchmarks, it comes down to about the same in performance. in other words, jw=jh

And the 6870m is almost the exact same as the 5870m, slightly more features, slightly less power, no real bench mark difference.

Is 6870m confirmed for next G series? I was hoping for 6970m, but current cooling solution may be can't. How about 6950m then?

My personal gaming tests show the GTX460M = HD5870M for gaming performance. Some titles prefer one or the other, but across the board, they're even, with current drivers.

Ruckus: what proof do you have that the AMD is faster? And I don't mean quoting several month old reviews.

to compare something what do you do?
    make some testing - benchmarking
    in DX 11 the 5870 smokes the 460m by 1000 points :) that's a big difference
so yeah i will stick with ruckus that 460m is not worth it with sandy bridge
when time goes by put faster product not slower .... simple logic

I hope, the next time Asus packs a new Nvidia GPU and an SB processor on its next G-series laptop, that they would now integrate the Optimus technology.

a 1000 points in what? And can you play this test? Do you run it every day? I don't think so. It's been proven over and over that the card makers optimize the drivers for known benchmarks, so I never trust those results.

Besides, I prefer to know how well my games will play vs how well it benches. I'll install the full version of the game, and load the same gamesave on both and monitor fps with the same in-game graphic settings. I put both drivers in application-controlled mode. After that is done I'll try some tweaking.

The only benchmark I do like using is the Heaven one, since I feel it can simulate actual gaming performance.
