With the Atheros NIC my G74SX shipped with, this is pretty close to what I averaged on a daily basis with the odd jump to 20Mbps download, but that was rare. No consistency.

If you're a G74 owner with the Atheros NIC I highly recommend this. Here's the part I used.

Newegg.com - Intel Ultimate N 633ANHMW Ultimate N 633ANHMW Wireless Adapter Mini PCI Express Up to 450Mbps Wireless Data Rates 64/128-Bit WEP, WPA, WPA2

I did not run the 3rd antenna for the 450Mbps though.

I just installed an Intel n-6300. I've never done this before, but I'm not bad with hardware. This operation from uninstalling the Atheros to testing speeds on the Intel took me about 40 minutes - I was afraid of breaking the antenna connections....

End result is this, consistently. I could never do that with the Atheros.

I used the pic BrodyBoy posted for reference in the owners lounge (thanks BrodyBoy!)

Hope this helps out others who my be having issues.

I concur with this thread. I was disappointed with the lack of N-5GHz frequency so I immediately hunted down an Intel 6230 on eBay to throw in. Night & day performance.
