Hey guys, how's it going. I bought a brand new Asus G75V laptop from Hong Kong for a decent price, but from a semi dodgy outlet. Was wondering how I can check to make sure all the specs on my laptop are OK, especially whether the HDD is 7200 RPM? Had another issue with my touch pad gestures. They were working fine before, but then to install BF3 I had to do a clean boot once and when I did that after reverting to a normal boot the touch pad gestures stopped working. I searched for Synaptics in the Windows search but nothing came up.

On top of that, since this is the first time I've ever owned high end gaming hardware, I just wanted to know what you guys would recommend doing to make sure it's all optimized. Thanks!

You can download HWInfo 64 from here: HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools Use that to check your parts and cross-reference those with what you're supposed to have.

As for optimization and touchpad gestures, just make sure all your drivers are installed and up-to-date. Asus' site is rarely accurate in this regard, but I'm not sure about the G75.

Thanks for the suggestion Alaric, I'll download it today and check it out. Any idea where I can get the accurate drivers for the G75? Would nvidia's official 670M drivers be compatible with the ROG card?

Yep, they should be. Just make sure you've selected the drivers for Windows 7 64-bit.
