G53JW-A1 : Same power, tighter package
This gives a good report on TT, It midly OC's the GPU and CPU but I don't believe it provides any huge performance gains,
You need to enable it in BIOS on the G73 and you need ATK and power-4-gear installed.
IF you need any programs mentioned they can be had here G73/74/53 Series Driver and Application Reference -
there is no such a thing in mybios as twin turbo or any turbo or overclock things ..... what is ATK ? i guess it is for the keyboard and the shortcut keys right ? i have it already and i also have the power4gear ...
-
You dont need to turn it on in the BIOS that is only if you want TT to boot with it on. All you need to do is have the latest drivers installed:
ATK Package 1.0.0.00010
Then you hit the button in the middle of the 3 top left of your keyboard to turn it on.
It will raise your FSB by 10% pushing your CPU clocks up but the performance difference is minimal.
Make sure you apply the W7 timing fax as explained in my video (sig) -
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7982/rogg53jwxn1i7740qm.jpg my cpu is like this since the day one i got my laptop i put it on high performance, so i guess i enabled it already right ?

... Twin turbo, on anything newer than a core2duo, is a waste.
-
but my question is, is it enabled or not? since my cpu runs at 3.1ghz ..
-
as DCX said it does nothing - minimal in terms of performance.
On the C2D I had in my G70s it would boost it from 2.4ghz to 2.9ghz now that is what you call a Twin Turbo button. 10% FSB is like fosters vs heineken. -
Does anyone know if you press the 2nd button on this model, will you see an OSD stating enbabled or disabled?
-
You will also need to open a Command Prompt with Admin rights and run
bcdedit /set useplatformclock true
and reboot.
What is twinturbo ?
