    Hi!

I'm in the market for a powerful 15 inch laptop and I was looking @ the asus g53 series.

My friend on campus has a 17 inch asus g series laptop which runs amazingly!

So... I was looking around and I found a pretty decent build for an Asus G53-nx1, but its an as-is offer from newegg.com

Is there a way to actually customize the laptops as you do with dell/hp/alienware ones? I'm a noob to asus (and laptops.. Im a desktop guy) so I figured I'd ask here since I just started looking today.

The as is build has an i7 2630 (entry level) and the i7 2720 is offered @ other retailers for like a 50 dollar upgrade. There is also no option but for 4gb ddr3 ram, and same for hard drives with the only one offered being a 7200rpm 500gb where other retailers are offering 750gb to 1tb 7200 rpm drives.

I'm in the market for something I can use that will be awesome for my programming work, and then for playing games or messing around in blender etc.

    I appreciate the help!
