Where on earth do I buy such a cable?
I have seen a few Asus parts store, but none of them have it.
Is this touchpad cable the same as older g-series cable?

So far the only one store that had one was a Hungarian store. And it's a huge hassle navigating that place.

Has anyone bought a touchpad cable for the g73jh?

    Thanks :)

Seems that getting the entire topcase is the only way to do it, short of identifying the exact part ... I'd have no idea how to go about getting *just* the cable.

Cables are hard to find. Your best bet is a parted out unit on ebay, etc. A parts supplier might be able to help, it's worth a shot.

I'm looking at the parts on that Asus store... how do I know if the the top case comes with the touchpad cable? There aren't any photos or anything.

Send Jody a message, I believe they've ordered a new topcase. Or make a forum post about it. I remember reading that SOMEONE has ...

The part is cheap enough, but the shipping price will make you a sad panda.

Care to share the story with us as to why you need this cable? My sonar detects a story of G73 destruction and mayhem.

I second that Jody, the shipping is brutal, I bought my HDD bracket from them.

BTW... I wasn't trying to be a jerk... just humorous :D

I took apart my laptop to add cooling paste. I have opened it many times just to see what parts I have, such as ram and cooling fans. When I screwed the screws back in, the touchpad cable was directly beneath the screw hole. This lead to it being drilled through, and now the cable has a huge hole in it. :) This all happened nearly a year ago, and honestly I wouldn't even care about, but I have a few extra dough lying around and figured I'd at least fix that problem. Maybe throw in a stronger card IF anything fits. :(

Well, you could always pickup both of those cables and replace them both of them, shipping should be the same for one or both of em (see cable link in my other post).
