    Hello All,

I was all set to buy a G73SW-XN2 from newegg a couple weeks ago when they went out of stock, and now discontinured ( Newegg.com - ASUS G Series G73SW-XN2 Notebook Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 17.3" 8GB Memory DDR3 1333 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M) . They still list a XN1( Newegg.com - ASUS G73 Series G73SW-XN1 Notebook Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 17.3" 8GB Memory DDR3 1333 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M) but it's out of stock and no idea if it will ever get back in stock. I cannot find a XN2 or XN1 instock anywhere. Why are they so hard to come by and does anyone have any idea where I can find one. It's really the perfect computer for what I'm looking for but is at the very top of what I can afford at $1200. I'm toying with the idea of getting a G53SW but I really want the 17" screen.

Some of the X models are specific to certain retailers, not all of them follow this rule but the majority of them do. The X"N" models are newegg specific hence the N in the name, meaning the XN1 and XN2 were made specifically for Newegg. If they dont have them in stock anymore it will be very hard if not impossible to find one. There are other models like the XR1 or XB1 which you can find multiple places.

Oh I see that's why tigerdirect sells the XT1. Unfortunetly the xn1 seems to be the only one in my price range all the others are above 1250. Really pissed that I waited. I emailed newegg and they responded....
Could totally see them saying this I wait a month and they discontinue. Our they selling everything off to make room for the G74?

Yes exactly, XT1 for tiger direct, XA1 for amazon etc.

I would be surprised if they did get it back in. The G73SW models are being phased out since the G74SX are now shipping. Asus is no longer making the G73SW so any hope for more would be just a last push of existing stock. Part of the reason the price was so low on them was to help move through any stock that was left.

Try refreshing your browser. I just checked the page again from my tablet and it still shows as in stock. This was for the link you posted in the original post for the XN2.

    Edited to add screenshot.
