    Hi,

Ive read that the G75 runs with DDR3-1600 RAM. But only when you use 2 of the 4 Slots. So the my question is: Is that true? And which choice is better:
Getting 4x4GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24 (Will they work only on 1333?)
getting 2x8GB DDR3-1600 CL 10-10-10-28 (Once I open It for the WiFi card, I could replace the stock RAM)

I can not imagine that the slightly slower CL of the 8GB sticks will make a big difference, am I right?

    Thanks for opinions.

    Greetings

So after some intense research I can answer my question:
In deed, 4 Modules will only work in 1333 Mode.

    Example from Wikipedia:
    DDR3-1333 CL8-8-8 12 ns
    DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9 11,25 ns

    So you should prefer adding 2x 8GB with CL10-10-10 modules and not 4x 4GB CL9-9-9 modules (DDR3-1600).

But there are 4GB DDR3-1333 Modules with CL7-7-7. Wiki says:
    DDR3-1333 CL7-7-7 10,5 ns

So fastest solution might be buying 4x4GB DDR3-1333 CL7-7-7 Modules.
Edit: But there are no CL7-7-7 with 204 Pins to buy.. :D So...

    No guarantee :D

Not sure if G75 can read XMP profile tho, if it uses XMP, 1866 with XMP profiles might even work in the G75.

I'm not quite sure on this but the BIOS in the old G73 shows it's disabled as default when you look it up, not sure if it's been changed on the G75.
You can download the G75 BIOS from ASUS site and try to look it up using AMI v4.5, or dump your bios using AFLASH2.exe and open it with AMI v4.5, if you are looking for a link take a look at this thread.

Is this true that four sticks will only do 1333mhz? I've got two 4GB sticks of "Corsair 8GB (2x 4GB) 1333mhz PC3-10666 204-pin DDR3 SODIMM" not being used, but wasn't going to use them since they are only 1333mhz. My G75 is the BB model with 8GB.

Should I go ahead and add the 1333mhz RAM that I already own, leave it at 8GB 1600mhz, or buy 2x4GB 1600mhz as an upgrade in the future?

Alright, opening G75VW BIOS with AMI 4.5v can't seem to see the Setup configuration tab. Might be the BIOS is made using a much newer version of tools or the access to it is simply locked. Anyway XMP is listed in the BIOS but don't know if it's been enabled:
