I have white lines on an external monitor it when it is plugged in. The white lines disappear when I unplug the power supply. I have tried two different power supplies. What could be the issue?
The power supplies I am using have these values:
Input: 100-240V ~ 2.0A(2.0A) 50-60Hz
Output: 19V --- 6.32A(6.32A) (-)--(--(+) Opening of circle faces (+)

Are you using VGA or DP/HDMI?

Hey. I plugged in a DP/HDMI cable instead and the monitor stopped flickering. Perhaps since the power supply plugs in right next to the VGA input on the laptop there is some electrical issue?

It sounds a little like you have a floating earth ground. By any
chance, are you using a 2-prong to 3-prong AC power
adapter on either the laptop or the monitor? VGA uses
low voltage analog signaling to transmit the video. If one
side is offset from the other, it can cause problems. Normally,
the signal ground conductors, in the VGA cable are enough, but if
the differential is too high, or the VGA cable is cheaply made, the
signal ground conductors are overwhelmed. When you switch to
battery operation, the laptop ground level will float to the level of
the mating device. I believe HDMI uses DC blocking circuitry (and
digital signalling), which helps eliminate the problem, even if there
is a ground offset.
Good luck,
Sir Robin
