So two questions:
Do you use the P4G Theme?
Do you use the Asus Background?
-
No, and No
-
P4G has a theme?????
-
I didn't know that either. I guess I didn't install it when I did my clean install months ago. It does change the display settings drastically when I go to the most aggressive power saving mode.
-
PG4 was the second app I removed, (Trend went first) I did not like the plain white background while on battery. Plus I needed to setup Alyssa Milano's Picture as my wallpaper.
-
Yeah... Does P4G have a theme?!?!?
-
Yeah, if you do the battery savings or whatever it kicks in a "power saving" near all white background. Someone needs to explain to me how causing the whole screen to light up the LCD helps with power savings.
-
I wondered the same thing. I was always told that if you change an LCD background to black it uses the least power possible.

Ok, people, I became intrigued by this strategy as well and after a few minutes googling found that according to this article:
So, it seems that without any current liquid crystals don't prevent the light from passing through, i.e. the light freely passes through red, green, and blue pixels and being perceived as white color. Therefore, any color combination except white requires some power and displaying black color (red, green, and blue pixels completely block the light) requires the most power.
So, maybe such power saving strategy is not without a thought.
Now, I would be interested to see how much exactly power it saves and how many milliampers a fully black lcd draws.
EDIT: Also, there is not "causing the whole screen to lit up" because the backlight is always shining at the same intensity, no matter what is shown on the screen. This strategy, however, would completely fail for LED displays, i.e. not LED backlit, but true LED screens because displaying white on LED/OLED displays really lights up the whole display. -
two..........
