I bought a brand new ASUS G53sx and while testing it like surfing the net,the battery drains so easily. I tried setting it to BATTERY SAVING Mode and even set the brightness screen to lowest but still it drains really fast. Does it have something to do with me not downloading the latest Drivers from the Asus website and also the latest NVIDIA drivers? I dunno much about computers. And also I noticed my G53sx has very low volume on its speakers, like its fully maxed out but I barely hear the movies when playing. Whats wrong please somebody help

Define very fast. Also, a gaming notebook like the G53 is a battery vampire in the first place so even on power savings and with all the lights turned off, low screen brightness and just surfing the web, you won't get much more than 3 hours of battery.

Agree with tijo - these notebooks just aren't built for battery life. I keep mine configured for the highest possible performance as it's almost always plugged in.

When I do go off battery I'm usually at 50% in an hour, less if I fire up a game.

1.5 hours are good, man. Mine was below 1 hour before it was returned to support center

I just tested it a few days ago, Just the battery attached to it and I did internet surfing (No youtube, or watching videos), just plain typing some music in the windows media player, and it lasted below one hour, and this is just a 11 day old laptop, should I return it? Also the keyboard tends to get hot. Can you advise me please?

Now that is definitely wrong. My G73sw is one year old and it still lasts ~2h of surfing. G73sw and G53sx are basically the same.

Like I said. Bought it in May/June last year and lasts ~2h while using Facebook and Office on WiFi in battery saving mode. The usual stuff you do in class.
    I don't game on battery.
