I have a G73JH and wanted to upgrade my i7 720 to the 920.the price used to be less than 200$ but now on ebay everything is almost 600$. Anybody knows why or where can I find a 9 series i7 for my g73 at a reasonable price?

It may be because it has shown popularity instead of upgrading the entire laptop since its quite a decent chip.

Also they are likely getting older and less available so a case of supply and demand.

Looks like the big resellers have bumped up the price.. hardwaremonkey had them for $300 for QS a few months ago when I got mine of a smaller seller for a bit less. I doubt many people will buy at their new price, it is crazy for a QS one. If you stalk ebay for a week or so a few decently priced ones from smaller sellers should pop up.

There is a used OEM one on now for only $335, I'd grab that if I were you!
