    I had a G75VW previously which had an i7-3610QM CPU running @ 2.3 GHz.

I used to get 7.7 to 7.8 in the CPU score for WEI

Now after I got a G750JX, I immediately formatted it coz it had Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 Pro x64

I installed the Intel Chipset Drivers from ASUS 9.4.0.1016 and all other drivers, but my CPU score is the weakest link here and I only get 7.6 although this CPU is a haswell HQ4700 running @ 2.4 Ghz. and I can see the Turbo Boost reaching all the way up to 3.4 GHz.

But I only get 7.6 score in WEI

I tried to format and install the Intel Chipset Driver 9.4.0.1017 but no help, same score

I also tried unlocking all cores via a utility for unlocking cores but that didn't help one bit

I am baffled, I know WEI is a piece of crap way to measure a PC's performance but still I wanna know what is going on here? all logic says I should get a better score than my previous laptop

in an image posted by a user here it appears that in Windows 8 this CPU is getting a 7.9 rating:

Is it that Windows 8 makes better use of these Haswell CPUs or what do you think the issue is here?

Although I hate Windows 8, but I wanna make the most out of my Laptop's hardware specs, so if that means I must use Windows 8 I will install StartIsBack and try to live with the quirks :(

I recently saw a post here in the Notebookreview forums or ROG forums that Win7 generally has lower or different scores compared to Win8. I know you are active in both so maybe you can find it :). Sorry don't have link, don't know where I saw that.

Yup, the scores are different for both windows 8 and Windows 7, an i7-2600K will score a mere 7.6 on WEI, so don't expect more than that on your 3610qm.

The scale in 7 stops at 7.9, it goes higher in Windows 8, up to 9.something IIRC.

So I formatted my laptop which had Windows 7 and installed Windows 8 Pro in GPT/UEFI mode and here is my WEI

Take a note that my Graphics score is higher than yours although I don't do any over clocking.

I am using the latest driver from ASUS 9.18.13.1159 and I set the power management mode in the nVIDIA Control Panel to "Prefer Maximum Performance" and set my plan to the Power4Gear High Performance:

So you say you know that WEI is cr@p and then format and reinstall Windows 7 to 8 to get higher WEI scores? :swoon:
Do I really have to tell you that you better use real benchmark software like wPrime, UCBench 2011, CineBench etc instead?

LOL seriously some people are way too obsessed with their e-peen or have too much time on their hands.

Nice guns in your avatar BTW. I didn't know they played baseball over in the Ukraine. I assumed soccer (football) as I do for most countries outside of the U.S. but what do I know.
