    Hello!
I've been having an issue with my laptop where when I start up my computer I will have to connect and disconnect from my Wireless Internet around 5 times before it will actually connect. I am also having random internet drops and again must connect and disconnect numerous times to be on the internet again. I was pretty sure it was my router and not my laptop but my phone and other computer don't seem to be having as many problems...

    Any ideas?

After installing the new drivers I am still having the issue. It comes in randomly usually while just doing some normal surfing of the web or gaming.
Like I said other devices on wifi are having no issues.

    Any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    -Travis

    Quick Note:
I have a little ASUS popup called Powerskin and reads "Please don't close this" Uhh... should I be worried?
Ran a virus scan finding nothing^

What exactly do those do? Boost signal and stability?

I'm wondering if it's a hardware problem that won't be fixed by one of those..

The Intel adapter replaces your current one, Intel wireless adapter like the 6200/6300 are among the best you can get right now, the 200s in my laptops have been working much better than the Atheros adapters that came with it originally. Also, they are 5GHz capable if ou have a dual band router, that is a nice feature to have.

My Atheros adapters were doing the job though, just not as well as the Intel ones. In my N50, i had to switch the antenna wires on the card to actually get a good signal.

I highly doubt that powerskin thing is related to Asus in any way.

Alright thanks a lot for the input! I'll definitely look into an adapter.

But yeah I am kind of worried about this powerskin thing.. I haven't seen anything relating to it in google searches...

Have you tried running scans with malwarebytes and superantispyware?

I used microsoft essentials security then malwarebytes and only had a small trojan.

I located the powerskin file in my temporary folder and it says: as I tried to delete
"This action can't be completed because the file is open in TODO: < File description >"

I would boot into Safe Mode (F8 just after POST)

Navigate to the file and delete.

    Reboot.
