Ok, so I got a new SSD in the mail the other day and wanted to start with a fresh install of windows. Upon finishing up the drivers my wireless network couldnt get internet access. So I go to cmd> ipconfig /release+renew and just like that it gets internet. I thought it was just a one time deal, but it seems every time I put my computer to sleep or turn it on, it will always connect with no internet connection, and I have to renew my ip EVERY TIME.

    Before I ipconfig /release+renew:

In Network and Sharing Center apparently the computer thinks that I am in an Unidentified network/Public network and I am UNABLE to change this/specify that I am on a home network, what have you.

I believe this is some sort of weird driver issue or a windows bug. After completely uninstalling and reinstalling the newest drivers it still does the same thing

The problem seems to stem from the fact that Windows can't "Identify" the network.

One more bit of information, I restored a my User using the "easy transfer tool" I believe I may have restore the user with out having all of the drivers in.
There was one other guy that had the same problem. He fixed it by using the recovery.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Jackal516 IF you go here: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Manage Wireless Networks are you able to add and set up the network 'fresh', If not do you see any related errors in event viewer?

I recommend you go back into Network and Sharing Center, choose "Manage wireless networks", and delete your current wireless network profile. Reboot, and then create a new wireless network profile.

EDIT: @JOSEA - ya beat me!

Ok! I took my laptop to work and when I connect that wireless network it connected no problem. I went to wireless networks and deleted. When I got home and plugged in my Ethernet cable it did the same thing as this morning, but when I turned on my wireless it worked connect just fine. So as the post above suggested, deleting the connection, and then restarting and connectiong again worked.

I knew it had to be something simple, funny to think someone reinstalled windows because of this problem on another form.

    Thx again guys[/U][/U]
